Whilst in the process of growing up, most of us have been through the traditional education pathway of kindergarten, primary school, secondary school, college and on to university. Some even go beyond that to obtain their Masters degree or Ph.D. 

Education starts off from being basic and general to being more topic-specific as we rise through the rungs of qualification. This is similar to the progress of our soul and evolution on earth. The experiences a soul will choose is based on the need to master certain subjects or lessons in their life on earth - to complete the learning of what they have chosen or have yet to complete in previous incarnations.
For example, a soul may experience many issues related to theme of injustice from previous incarnations. Still, the soul was not able to overcome it and may choose to master the theme this lifetime. Hence, precipitating lessons and experiences related to injustice for the soul to master.
Master programmes take you all the way from Ascended Master level to the GODHEAD level and beyond.
