Spiritualizing New Year Resolutions - Resolution 1: Get in Shape

Resolutions are nothing new. But you can make it new, or rather renew it with spirituality. Here are some common resolutions and how you can 'spiritualize' it for the coming new year. In this series of articles which would be posted consecutively leading up to the New Year, I am listing down some common new year goals, but with a spiritual touch to it. Within each resolution there will be an 'Intention Plan' and an 'Action Plan' to help you get started.
Resolution # 1: Get in Shape
Getting in shape always tops the list of resolutions. Usually, it means getting the body you want, to stay slim and fit; all focused on our physical.
As a Spiritual Being, a Soul living on Earth, there is more than one body to pay attention to. Besides your physical body, there is your emotional body, your mental body and spiritual body which includes your astral and etheric body.
Intention Plan
Set the intention for all of your four bodies. What are you trying to integrate within your well-being? As a Spiritual Being, a healthy body is about maintaining an optimum energy level that leads to the cultivation of higher vibration within your inner environment.
Action Plan
Remember, when it comes to setting spiritual resolutions, it works somewhat in a 80/20 way. Effort or action from your end that is needed to set the intention in motion is merely 20%. The other 80% is always taken care of by your Soul/Divine Self or the Universe. But you must set an intention to include the Higher Aspects of nature because this a planet of Free Will.

Intention Plan

- Physical body: If weight is your goal, it is best based on the motivation of having greater vitality and a sense of health. Go beyond focusing so much on the physical aspect of this resolution and look into the qualities that you would like to integrate within your Self. Also do take into account your spiritual work. It is common that people on the ascension path may have symptoms like weight loss or weight gain.
- Emotional body: What are the emotions that you want to master? For instance how do you master anger? Or how do you deal with your tendencies to absorb the emotions of others?
- Mental body: What are the negative beliefs that you wish to release so you can replace with more positive ones? List it all down.
- Spiritual body: List out the 'feeling spaces' you would like to be in. Is it feeling joy and forgiveness more easily? Or being consistently in a place of inner peace?
Action Plan
- Physical body: You can take up yoga, join a gym, set exercise routines to your everyday life. The exercise choices are endless. But do find something that fits your flow.
- Emotional body: As emotions are also forms of energy, there are many techniques and tools out there to help you transmute or transform it into more positive and usable ones.
- Mental body: Like emotions, techniques must also be consistently applied to help you release and replace them. Some ways are subconscious programming, NLP, hypnosis and more. Do your research. Or ask your Higher Self to send you the right teachers and healers to help you.
- Spiritual body: Decide which 'vehicle' that you would like to take with you/use on your spiritual journey. Meditation is an essential vehicle.
