Spirituality Malaysia : Endurance Endurance ================================================================================ Shamala Tan on 11 December, 2008 10:28:00 A few readers have emailed me asking if I have recovered and if I am still in pain from the run. I am perfectly fine now thank you, I even played tennis yesterday. :-) One important quality that I have which I am grateful for is my high endurance level and resilience. I believe that this quality also helped me tremendously to get out of my addictions. Interestingly, it is also the same endurance that allowed me to be victimised by my addictions! Let me explain. One can use endurance negatively or positively. If endurance is used for negative intentions such as addictions, one can stay and endure even the most painful addictions for many years, whether it is physical, emotional or mental addictions. However, if endurance is used in a positive way to move out of negative habits then certainly endurance works to your advantage. One of the most important things for addicts to remember is that the transition period is the most crucial. The transition period may be 3 days, 7 days or for some a month. But using endurance and the right motivation, one can master any kinds of addictions. Ultimately, it is a matter of choice. © 2008 Shamala Tan
